Bulk Loads for Equine Sand Schools
A typical standard 20m x 40m sand school will typically require 140-200 tonne of stone and 140-200 tonne of sand. That is after a level surface has been created and the all important drainage planned. The type of stone and sand has to be suited to the ground condition and your installer will advise accordingly.
A major project we were recently involved with required 600 tonne of material, involving 30 x 20 tonne loose lorry load deliveries on site. In this case 200 tonne of hard core was used to establish levels, then 200 tonne of 20/40mm limestone, and 200 tonne of silica sand.
The pictures below show the progress of the sand school amd materials used in this project.
Materials used in this project:
- 200 tonne of hard core to level surface area to overcome a one metre drop to one end
- 200 tonne 20/40mm limestone for base and drainage
- 4 inch drainage channels
- Membrane on top of stone
- 200 tonne of silica sand
- Final sand loads mixed with a carpet fibre
